Today, we gather to celebrate the life of a remarkable man, a man whose presence left a lasting impact on all of us. My uncle, Dennis, was a real estate appraiser by profession, but he was so much more to those who knew him well. He was a man of integrity, deep compassion, and unwavering principles.
As an appraiser, my uncle was meticulous in his work, dedicated to ensuring every detail was considered with precision and care. His expertise and fairness earned him respect and admiration in his field. Yet, beyond his professional life, it was his personal passions and values that truly defined him.
He was a devoted fan of Crosby, Stills, and Nash, and their harmonies filled his heart with joy. Their music spoke to his soul, echoing his own belief in peace, love, and understanding. His love for music was not just a pastime; it was a source of inspiration, a reminder to stay true to one’s ideals.
My uncle’s love for his wife Linda was evident to all who saw them together. Their bond was a testament to the power of love and partnership, a love story that stood the test of time. He cherished Linda deeply and always spoke of her with the utmost affection and respect.
As a pacifist, my uncle was an active advocate for peace during the Vietnam War. He believed in the power of dialogue and understanding, choosing the path of compassion over conflict. His dedication to promoting peace and justice inspired many and left a profound mark on those who shared his journey.
Though my uncle’s physical presence may no longer be with us, his spirit lives on in the memories we hold dear. His laughter, his wisdom, and his love will continue to guide us and comfort us in times of need.
